MEET THE ARTIST & FOUNDER OF PILI STUDIO

Aloha, I’m Kaila.

I am a Florida native with a deep passion for the ocean, flowers, and artistic expression. With 27 years of experience as a practicing artist, I have explored various mediums from painting, photography, and mixed media. I now specialize in crafting limited edition and one-of-a-kind print pieces heavily influenced by coastal musings and tropical flowers—with notes of wild horses from time to time!

I started Pili Studio to keep me connected to the something that I have loved since I was a child, to the creative expression and release my soul craves on a daily basis. I created this space to connect my soul to others just like it through poetry in visual form. Everyone has an art form that speaks to them or helps them tell their story in it’s unique and beautiful way—Pili Studio is here to help your soul story come to life.

Outside of the studio, I am a wife and mother of two beautiful children, a sister and a friend. We currently reside in the humble coastal town of Atlantic Beach, Florida. Want to know more? Read on, on the journal!

Journey with me, where tales of the ocean dance with vibrant florals to create masterpieces that stir the soul. Dive into my world, a place where every piece whispers secrets of the sea and petals bloom with simplistic, yet, wild beauty.

“Remember, the words we speak are not just sounds in the air; they are the architects of our destiny, crafting the world we live and thrive in.”

— Elli Milan

  • I am married with two beautiful children. We reside in Atlantic Beach, Florida but are always open to exploring new places! We lived in San Diego, CA for some time an it will forever be our second home.

  • The first photograph I ever took—circa 2001 or 2 maybe—was of a yellow hibiscus on a tiny Kodak point and shoot. Ever since, I have been mesmerized by the beauty and delicate nature they embody.

  • Oh, I can’t find where to begin... Just as I am sure other oceanic souls like me can attest, we are magnetically drawn to the sea and find rest, reset, escape and inspiration by its powerful and healing energy.

  • Cold therapy, sound baths, wild horses, salt water, gardening & free sketching are my current muses.

Aloha — Kai
